Twin AeroBed March 11, 2010 S. Pilgreen (San Francisco, CA) I love it! I got it for a friend who came to visit and she said it was great to sleep on (all things considered!) Also it is super fast and pretty quiet when being inflated (quieter than my blow-dryer). I would definitely recommend it - plus comes with a nice little storage bag too =)
Aerobed Budget "Sleep Number" February 2, 2010 Joey J. Madlangbayan (Tustin, CA) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased this bed almost 18 months ago. It's been one of the best mattresses I ever slept on. I love how firm it gets and stays that way as well. (sounds X-rated) Anyways, I am please with it despite the manufacturer stating that this bed is not intended to be used everyday.
I'm sorry to hear others have had a bad experience with it. I'm hoping the prices continue to decrease because I payed ~$150 for a full sized model.
I admit mine does leak after 1 month, I have to keep adding a little air again. Not worth crying over. I hope that the company thinks about expanding it's market to design a full time mattress that would compete with the Sleep Number. Imagine getting a bed with the same features and quality for 25% less.
I've put an additional quilted cover over the mattress which protects it even more from the elements. We have to realize that PVC and Nylon does not last forever.
I'm too old for this thing... January 17, 2010 Mahlers2nd 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
We spent a week at a beach house which only had 4 beds -- the biggest of which was a full-sized. My husband and I haven't slept in a full-sized bed since we first started living together nearly 20 years ago. So we bought this thinking that it would provide adequate extra bedding -- my sister had one and she said it worked well.
It was worse than sleeping on the floor. It didn't have enough support and so my mid-section was actually on the floor while my head and feet were higher than normal -- not comfortable. And getting up off the floor -- after an entire night on this thing? Not pretty and not fun!
I subsequently purchased Aerobed Sleep Away Elevated Queen Inflatable Bed for not much more money and boy -- what a difference. The Elevated bed was much more comfortable and you could get out of it without while preserving some measure of dignity. There was no sagging or bottoming out.
I suppose if you are just purchasing this for kids or portability is much more of a concern for you, then this will work. However, if you want are an average middle-aged person, go with an elevated bed. The sleep and the back you save may be your own!
Excellent air mattress December 17, 2009 P. Buchanan (New England) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
The Aerobed shipped faster than promised and was exactly as promised. I have another Aerobed with a slightly different pumping system--the controls are on a cord rather than built into the mattressa as they are here. I think I prefer the other version, but my guests were very happy with this one.
Aerobed Queen Inflatable Mattress December 1, 2009 Robert Golden 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought the Aerobed as a replacement for a 10 year old La-Z-Boy inflatable mattress that lived inside a queen sleeper couch and finally started leaking. The new Aerobed inflates and deflates quickly and easily with the built in pump. The bed seemed to lose some pressure after one day when first inflated, but that was probably due to the vinyl stretching, because after inflating it again it held pressure for over two weeks, until I deliberately deflated it for storage.
It's a thick mattress, and pretty bouncy when sitting on top of the fold-out couch's springs, but still comfortable to sleep on. On a floor, it would probably be even better.
