Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The New AeroBed Earth EcoLite Twin Airbed and Pump was created for the serious outdoor enthusiast who is concerned about reducing their carbon footprint, but does not want to give up the comfort and performance they have come to expect from an AeroBed. This new ultra light air bed is made for 100 percent eco-friendly TPU materials that contain no phthalates. The included lightweight powerful NiCd pump runs cordless once fully charged and will fill up a queen sized bed 5 to 7 times before it will ever need to be recharged, pump recharges with included DC adapter in under 12 hours. The oversized valve makes for easy inflation and deflation and can be inflated anywhere in about 90 seconds. The bed and pump combo comes packed in its own convenient carrying case so you can take this new lightweight environmentally friendly airbed anywhere you want to go. Backed by a 2 year limited express warranty on pump and valve.

I bought a pair of these air mattresses, one queen and a twin. They looked like they would be perfect because they were lightweight and compact when deflated. Then I opened them and realized that you can ONLY inflate them with the supplied pump. There is no way to manually inflate. There is no way to use a hand pump. There is no way to use another pump.

The problem is that they used a really odd valve design that will not work with anything else. That's fine as long as the supplied pump is charged and you have it with you. But it's a heavy, bulky thing to have to lug around when a simple hand pump would be lighter and never run out of charge. Even if you're in you house or where there is a power hook up the pump they provide is not ideal because you can't run it directly off AC (or car power). Instead you have to charge it for 12 hours then use it. And once the rechargeable batteries get old and stop holding a charge, you'll end up tossing the whole thing into a landfill.
